What does HEPA stand for?
HEPA stands for High Efficiency
Particulate Air.
What is ozone?

produced in the Earth's upper atmosphere by the action of UV sun
light on oxygen molecules.

Why use ozone in water treatment
or purification?
Ozone is a powerful oxidizer
similar to chlorine. Air is drawn into a ozone generator at which
point the air is charged with high voltage. The air is made up of
diatomic oxygen (O2) and nitrogen (N2). Diatomic oxygen is a molecule
composed of two oxygen atoms (O) held together by four equally shared
electrons. As the air is drawn through the ozone generator, the
high voltage splits some oxygen molecules into oxygen atoms. Some
of these atoms then quickly react with oxygen molecules to form
ozone (O2 + O1 = O3). Ozone is secondary only to fluorine as the
most powerful oxidant. Ozone inactivates and oxidizes organic metals,
contaminates and pesticides, viruses and bacteria faster than chlorine.
Ozone also functions as a micro flocculating agent to polish the
water and improve clarity and taste. Kills every harmful organism
known. Used in home and industrial water treatment. Also used in
air treatment. Uses electricity. Most commonly used in conjunction
with carbon filters. Uses electricity. First used in Europe in 1893.
A very effective and powerful method to purify water.

How does Ultraviolet Light work
to clean air or water?
A lamp producing Ultraviolet
radiation in the 200-300 nanometer range is emitted through clear,
prefiltered, particle free water. This UV light is extremely effective
in killing and eliminating bacteria, yeast's, viruses, molds and
other harmful organisms known to man. Used in industry and hospitals
to treat water. Must be used in conjunction with sediment and carbon
filters to create pure drinking water. If sub-micron particles remain
in the water, the UV light may not come in contact with the organism
as the organism is hiding behind the particle. Many times used as
a post disinfecting method for residential water treatment. Uses
electricity.
